Our Practice History

After finishing a pediatric internship and residency at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Walter Hoerman moved north in a search for more mountains and better snow. After an exhaustive search, he settled on Rochester, NH, joining Rochester Pediatrics. After enjoying 8 years there, he decided he wanted to try establishing his own pediatric practice with all the aspects that he knew would be successful, and he opened Lilac City Pediatrics from scratch, repurposing an old home he found on Route 11.

The practice was immediately successful, and in just a few months we hired Nancy Strafford Hesko, ARNP, who would go on to provide amazing care to our patients for the next 16 years. Sadly, Nancy retired in 2013. In the first several years, we had two other pediatricians come and go, including Dr. Brenda Foley, who worked here from 2000-2005.

In 2005, Dr. Mitchel Pivor joined our practice, coming from a few years in North Carolina, originally training at Tulane and at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Pivor brought decades of pediatric practice experience to our staff.

In 2013, we were excited to add Sara Walsh, CPNP, to our group. Sara comes directly from working in the Urology Department at Boston Children’s Hospital, and previously had worked in two private practices in Massachusetts. Patients have been very happy to work this Sara on the health of their children.
